Make A BC18 Backpack

My designs, ideas, drawings, in whole or in part, may be used for private use. Companies must have my permission!

Here you will find information about my home-made backpack that I call BC18 (Bushcraft 18 liter) 🙂

Dimensions: 410 x 250 x 180 mm (18 liters)

Materials for the backpack on the pictures
I bought the fabric, webbing and plastic parts from Shelby Outdoor in Finland. You can of course use any material you want, but this was my choice this time. And no, I am not sponsored by them, I’m just a regular customer. There are of course other companies online you can buy from. But Shelby had what I needed this time – A heavy weight fabric and webbing in olive color, etc. I started by ordering a test piece of the fabric. I had a bit of 3D Mesh at home that I used on the Back part. I bought it a few years ago from Extremtextil in Germany.

How much and what to buy depends on how you choose to equip your backpack and if you already have some materials at home. I did not buy everything this time because I already had some fabric, used buckles etc. at home.

There are many who have asked me what material etc I have used to make this backpack. So here is a list…

But of course you can do your backpack in a completely different way!

Fabric and materials for my next BC18 backpack project

For my upcoming BC18 backpack I will use a Polycotton Canvas fabric from Heavy Duty Sewing in Sweden. Webbing, buckles etc. are from Shelby Outdoor. Placement of webbing etc will be the same. Pictures and information  will be found on this page.

Print the pattern

1. Print the parts on A4 or Letter size paper.

2. Cut and tape together the parts along the cut line.

3. Ready to use.

And here is the pattern

Each part is available in two versions. For printing on A4 or Letter paper. Remember to print the pattern in actual size, 100 %! But you can of course modify the pattern and make the backpack bigger or smaller, etc if you want to. You decide. One backpack does not fit everyone’s wishes and demands.
